Center for Security Programs and the Public Opinion Research Institutes conducted an expert discussion on "Problems Of National And Regional Security: An Integrated View On Terrorism". 11 April 2013. Center for Military and Strategic Studies in cooperation with the Public Opinion Research Institute held an international conference on the topic "Regional Security And The Situation In Afghanistan". The conference devoted to actual problems of regional security and the situation in Afghanistan.
The discussion was attended by leading Kazakhstan and foreign security experts, public figures, representatives of state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan and international research institutes.
12 April 2013. Dr. Antonio Lozano delivered a report on the cooperation of Spain and Kazakhstan in the field of conflicts research and introduction of mediation at a conference on mediation in Granada. Antonio Lozano - consultant of our projects on conflict resolution and mediation.

. The Public Opinion Research Institute, International Studies Association (ISA), L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University held a meeting of members of the International Studies Association of Kazakhstan, the United States and Canada. The main objective: to acquaint the Kazakhstani scientists with the opportunity to participate in the prestigious scientific international congress.
The Association of International Studies was presented during the meeting. The participants discussed the opportunity for the Kazakhstani researchers to participate in the annual congress of the Association, the news about the opening of section panels at the 55th Congress of the ISA in Toronto (Canada).
Members of the Editorial Board of Journal "INTERNATIONAL STUDIES. Society. Politics. Economics"
published by the Public Opinion Research Institute spoke about the preparation of a special issue to be presented at the next 55th Congress of the International Studies Association (ISA) "Spaces and Places: Geopolitics in an Era of Globalization" in Toronto (26-29 March 2014).

Office of Trade and Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Bulgaria in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Public Opinion Research Institute held the cocktail evening 'Friends of Bulgaria', where the results of a sociological study "The Image Of Bulgaria - The View Of Capital Citizens" were presented.

Center for the Study of Interethnic and Interfaith Relations of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and the Public Opinion Research Institute held training workshop on "Effective Management Of Ethno-Social And Ethno-Confessional Processes In The Region: Negotiations And Mediation In A Multicultural Society" in Aktau.
Participants: Civil servants dealing with interethnic and interfaith relations, deputy akims, heads of domestic politics of cities, regions, heads of ethnic and cultural, youth and other public associations, representatives of scientific and expert groups of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, universities and media of Mangistau, Atyrau, Aktobe, and West Kazakhstan regions.
3 August 2013. Working meeting with Houman A. Sadri, professor, University of Central Florida (Orlando, USA). Discussed a joint project of studying the risks and challenges to security in the Caspian Sea.
5-6 August 2013.Botagoz Rakisheva director of the Institute, Ainur Mazhitova, First Deputy Director, Yevgeniya Rudneva Deputy Director for Projects took part in the international conference "The Steppe and the Sown", organized by the European Society for Central Asian Studies (ESCAS). The conference was held at Nazarbayev University.
18-20 September 2013. In Aktau, under the auspices of the Business Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was held III International Conference "Caspian paradigm/SCO Energy Forum" – "Energy Cooperation and Security in Central Asia: SCO and the Eurasian Economic Union".
The Public Opinion Research Institute co-hosted the event.
The purpose of the event: the consolidation of intellectual resources of expert and business community of the countries-members, observers and partners of the SCO dialogue in the interest of creating a harmonious energy balance for the whole of the Organization.

28 September 2013. Botagoz Rakisheva, Ainur Mazhitova and Daniyar Kosnazarov participated in the round table of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan where the possibility of cooperation between scientists of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) were discussed.

5-6 November 2013. Participation of the Institute staff in the international workshop "New Geopolitics Of Operations To Ensure Peace: Dialogue With The Emerging Powers. Central Asian Regional Dialogue" organized by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in cooperation with the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute SIPRI.
Security challenges have changed significantly over the past decade. To a certain extent it influenced the form of operations to ensure peace. More and more states participate in peacekeeping missions. At the same time new structures and mechanisms of regional character appear which hypothetically allow carrying out peacekeeping missions by the region itself, without the involvement of the UN global resources.
The two-day international workshop became a platform to discuss the new landscape of peacemaking among scientists, politicians and practitioners in Central Asia, Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Sweden. The purpose of this dialogue is to find the factors influencing the peacekeeping operation, as well as analysis of the potential of a possible international cooperation which are necessary to deal with future security challenges in the region.
8-10 November 2013. The Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the Public Opinion Research Institute, Institute of Social and Political Studies and the Institute of Peace, Conflict and Mediation of the Kokshe Academy conducted Autumn School "Mediation as an effective tool for managing conflict in the Democratic developing society".
The main purpose of the event: improving professional knowledge and skills of specialists in the field of conflict resolution and mediation. Venue: Borovoe, Akmola region.
Participants: Government officials dealing with interethnic and interfaith relations, heads of ethnic and cultural, youth and other public associations, representatives of the scientific and expert community and mediators.
20 November 2014. Participation in the international conference "Improving The System Of Provision Of Public Services In The Light Of The Implementation Of The Law "On Public Services", organized by the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning of Kazakhstan and the UN Development Program in Kazakhstan.
Botagoz Rakisheva, director of the Public Opinion Research Institute presented results of public opinion survey by the level of satisfaction with the quality of public service delivery in 2013 on request of UNDP.
21 November 2013. On the scientific workshop organized by the Institute, Bryn Rosenfeld, Ph.D Candidate (Princeton University), presented the methodology of social polls used by sociologists at Princeton University during the electoral period.
Sociologists of our Institute also shared their experiences of using the method of sociological research.
