On January 30-31, 2019 in Almaty, Botagoz Rakisheva participated in the international high-level conference and the seminar "EU and Central Asia: Trends and Prospects", organized by the Central Asian Institute for Strategic Studies. The event was attended by representatives of state bodies, diplomatic missions, international organizations and NGOs, academic and research circles of the EU and Central Asia. At the conference, Botagoz Rakisheva presented a report entitled "Public Opinion of the Residents of the Central Asian Countries: Attitudes Toward Each Other and the EU, Prospects for Cooperation". These events are part of the SEnECA project "Strengthening and Enhancing Relations between the EU and Central Asia", which aims to determine the future frameworks of the EU Strategy in Central Asia. In April 2019, Botagoz Rakisheva, Director of the Public Opinion Research Institute and Aigul Sadvokassova, Head of the Center for the Study of Interethnic and Interfaith Relations of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Сhairman of the Scientific Expert Council of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, gave lectures at Shanghai International Studies University.
On May 14-15, 2019 III Kazakhstan-Russian expert forum organized by the Kazakhstan Council on International Relations and the Valdai International Discussion Club was held in Nur-Sultan. During the Forum, experts discussed global geopolitical trends and their impact on the Eurasian space, current issues of Kazakh-Russian relations and the development of the EAEU, the foreign policy of China, the media partnership of Kazakhstan and Russia, new frameworks of cooperation in Central Asia, as well as the transformation of the social contract within the region . At the Fifth Session Botagoz Rakisheva, Director of the Public Opinion Research Institute, presented a report "A New Social Contract: Values, Identity, and the Transformation of Public Consciousness".
On May 29-31, 2019, the X International Forum "MEMORY FOR THE FUTURE" dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repressions was held in Nur-Sultan. Organizers of the forum: Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, "Kogamdyk Kelisim" under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Scientific and Expert Council of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan. Botagoz Rakisheva participated in the forum as a moderator of the Panel session: "Key trends in the development of research on historical memory: concepts, methods, prospects." At the I International Forum "MEMORY FOR THE FUTURE" in 2010, scientists from the Institute presented the documentary film "Deportation of Peoples to Kazakhstan 30-50 years of the XX Century" based on the results of an international sociological study.
On June 12, 2019 in Nur Sultan, the Kazakhstan Council on International Relations (KACIR) together with the Institute of Eurasian Studies of Shanghai International Studies University held the Kazakhstan-China Expert Forum. The forum of leading Kazakhstani and Chinese experts, researchers and practitioners was held according to the Chatham House rules (closed format), where experts of the two countries discussed key political, economic, socio-cultural issues of bilateral relations on the agenda, as well as current trends in global geopolitics and their impact to the countries of Central Asia. Botagoz Rakisheva, Director of the Public Opinion Research Institute, made a presentation at Session 3. Kazakhstan - China: expanding strategic partnership and perception costs.
On June 24, 2019 in Nur-Sultan, the IV FORUM OF HUMANITARIAN SCIENCES "GREAT STEP" was held on the topic: "Turkic civilization: from the origins to the present", organized by the International Turkic Academy, where Botagoz Rakisheva presented the report "Turkbarometer": social and cultural cooperation of Turkic-speaking countries".
On August 13-15, 2019 in Tashkent (Uzbekistan), as part of a research project, a meeting was held with the Director of the Scientific and Practical Research Center "Oila" under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan Diloram Tashmukhamedova, professor of the Center for the Study of Central Asia of the University of Hankuk Kim Sangcheol (Seoul, South Korea), Director of the Public Opinion Research Institute Botagoz Rakisheva (Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan).
On September 19-21, 2019, the Central Asian MediaCAMP Fest was held in Dushanbe (Tajikistan), the largest festival for media professionals in Central Asia aimed at developing a balanced information environment in Central Asia in order to increase the openness of youth and adults to the exchange of ideas, opinions and points of view. The organizer of the festival is Internews. During the festival, the Director of the Institute Botagoz Rakisheva presented the preliminary results of the sociological study "Media Consumption and Media Literacy in Central Asia" (Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan), commissioned by Internews.

in Nur-Sultan, an international conference "Values: what unites us and what distinguishes us" was organized by the Representative Office of the F. Ebert Foundation in Kazakhstan and the Institute of World Economy and Politics under the Fund of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Within the framework of the conference, a sociological study and the book "Values of Kazakhstan's society in the sociological dimension" were presented.
The study "Values of Kazakhstan's society in the sociological dimension" was conducted in 2018 (n = 1600 respondents). For its implementation, the Representation of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Kazakhstan gathered the maximum number of scientists with different research experience from various research organizations and universities that were united by one goal. The project team that developed the concept, program and research toolkit included Leonid Gurevich, Saltanat Ermakhanova, Zhanar Zhandosova, Fatima Zhandosova, Gulnara Ismukhanova, Yulia Kuchinskaya, Gulnar Nasimova, Botagoz Rakisheva, Zhanar Tulindinova, Botagoz Turekhanova, Tolganai Umbetaliyeva, Dina Sharipova. On October 8, 2019, Botagoz Rakisheva presented a report entitled "The Legacy of Repression in Kazakhstan" at the Nazarbayev University at the conference "In the Gulag Shadow: Prison and Society in Kazakhstan and the Former Soviet Union". The conference is organized by the The School of Humanities and Socisl Sciences and of Nazarbayev University. In her speech, Botagoz Rakisheva raised pressing issues of the consequences of repression in Kazakhstan based on the results of sociological studies on this topic.
On October 31, 2019, the International Forum of Scientists and Experts "Unity in Diversity: Kazakhstan and International Experience", dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Scientific and Expert Council of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, was held in Nur Sultan. Within the framework of the Forum, Botagoz Rakisheva made a report "Historical memory: methodology, results, opportunities", which provided the results of a comparative sociological study of 2010 and 2018, which reflects the dynamics of the state of historical memory in society.
On November 14-15, 2019, staff members of the Institute Ainur Mazhitova and Gulden Yemisheva participated in a subregional consultation meeting in the context of the EU-UNICEF Multi-Country / Interregional Program "Protecting Children in Migration Processes in Southeast, South and Central Asia" in Almaty. During the meeting, the results of the analysis of the situation of children in migration processes in Central Asia, conducted by the Public Policy Management Institute(Vilnius, Lithuania) together with the Higher School of Economics (Moscow, Russia) and the Public Opinion Research Institute (Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan) were presented.

in Nur Sultan, the international and national results of the third round of the The Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) were announced by an OECD expert and representatives of the National PIAAC Center in Kazakhstan (Information Analitycal Center). On November 22, 2019, Nazarbayev University hosted a Scientific Seminar organized by the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Nazarbayev University, the Nazarbayev University Library and the Public Opinion Research Institute. The keynote speaker in the panel discussion was migration specialist Antonio Mendonça with the theme "Migrants from Central Asia to Western Europe: Numbers, Mobility, Profiles, Identity".
Other speakers: Botagoz Rakisheva (Public Opinion Research Institute), Caress Schenk (Nazarbayev University) and Darina Sadvokassova (Nazarbayev University).
In the second part of the event, an employee of Dublin City University Abel Polesé - a scientist, development specialist, amateur musician, author of fifteen books and more than 100 peer-reviewed chapters and articles spoke. Abel Polesé presented his new book, The SCOPUS Diaries and the (il) logics of Academic Survival.
On November 27, 2019, Botagoz Rakisheva made a presentation "Social and Political Values of Central Asian Youth (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan)" at the international conference Youth Mobilization and Political Change. Participation, values, policies and discourses between East and West organized by ZOiS (Center for Eastern European and International Studies) in Berlin (Germany).
On December 2, 2019, Botagoz Rakisheva delivered a lecture "The Multinational State of Kazakhstan: National and Migration Policy" in the lecture hall of the Bundestag (Reichstag).

On November 29, 2019, the Representative Office of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation (FRG) in Central Asia and the Public Foundation "Association of Doctors of Gerontologists of the Republic of Kazakhstan" held an international scientific and practical conference in Almaty on the topic "Kazakhstan's Index of Active Longevity as a Tool for Evaluating the Policy for the Elder Generation". The purpose of the scientific and practical conference: discussion of the problems of active longevity and the progress of the project "The Elder Generation of Central Asian Countries: Present and Future", supported by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Central Asia. The basis of this project is the definition of the Index of Active Longevity in Kazakhstan, as a tool for assessing policies for the older generation, based on the results of a sociological study, in order to improve the provision of multilevel assistance to the population within the framework of state programs for the development of health care and modernization of social policy. The Executive Director of the Institute, Ainur Mazhitova, participated in the presentation of the results of a sociological study conducted by the Public Opinion Research Institute in collaboration with experts.
