21 May 2014. In the framework of the VII Astana Economic Forum a panel session "The Public Perception of the Eurasian Integration" took place which was dedicated to the problems of perception by the public and elites of the processes of integration and cooperation of CIS countries in economic, political and socio-cultural (humanitarian) fields.
19 May 2014. The Public Opinion Research Institute was attended by Pal Tamas, a well-known researcher, sociologist, scientist, professor. Meeting and conversation of our sociologists with the renowned fellow researchers, according to the Institute's long-standing tradition, was held during the pizza-party. The conversation was mostly about the methodology of ethnic studies, the situation around Ukraine and research methodology.
15 May 2014. Expert meeting "US policy toward Central Asia: the Ukrainian factor". The event was held in the framework of Network of experts of Central and South Asia. Invited expert - Houman A. Sadri, Professor of the University of Central Florida, United Nations Model Coordinator and a member of the Executive Committee of the ISA (Orlando, USA).
13 May 2014. A regular expert discussion on "Eurasian Economic Union: Pros and Cons" has been conducted.
25-26 April 2014. Gulden Ashkenova, Data Processing Manager, Master of Sociology participated in the V Congress of Sociologists of the Turkic-speaking countries "National strategies of the Turkic-speaking states development" (Almaty) organized by the Association of Sociologists of Kazakhstan with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Congress was attended by researchers in sociology and interdisciplinary social sciences from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and others countries.
1 April 2014. We hosted our guest Park Jung Gyeong, a young scientist, researcher at the Institute of Central Asian Studies of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. His Kazakh name is Amir. He is fluent in Kazakh, and he learned Kazakh at the University in Seoul. Department of the Kazakh language of Hankuk University trains specialists of Kazakh language, and what is most notably the program does not provide a language practice in Kazakhstan. Only in their third year, students with a good knowledge of the language go to Kazakhstan for internship.
24-29 March 2014. Participation of Yevgeniya Rudneva, Deputy Director for Projects of the Public Opinion Research Institute at the 55th Annual Convention of International Studies Association (ISA) "Spaces and Places: Geopolitics in an Era of Globalization" which took place on 26-29 March 2014 in Toronto (Canada).
In section Diplomacy in Eurasia, Yevgeniya Rudneva delivered her speech on "Public relations in the post-communist space (a project on integration sentiments of citizens of Eurasia on the results of comparative research "Integration Barometer" which is implemented by the Center for Integration Studies of the Eurasian Development Bank and the International Research Agency "Eurasian monitor") and she outlined there a number of the research results.
There, within the framework of the convention, was a workshop "Post-communist states in international relations" where topics related to the processes on the post-Soviet space were discussed. At the workshop she presented our Journal "INTERNATIONAL STUDIES. Society. Politics. Economics" devoted to this occasion. The Issue was dedicated to a topical and high profile subject "Security Challenges in Central Asia".
20 March 2014. The Public Opinion Research Institute was attended by Andrzej Wierzbicki, a famous Polish scientist, researcher, specialist in the field of inter-ethnic relations, Professor of the Institute of Political Science, University of Warsaw.
Andrzej Wierzbicki is a member of the Editorial Board of Journal "INTERNATIONAL STUDIES. Society. Politics. Economics", and an academic advisor to a number of research projects.
27-28 February 2014. Participation of the Institute sociologists - Ainur Mazhitova and Anastasia Shandryga in the IV International Sociological Conference "Continuing Grushin's work" organized by Russian Public Opinion Research Center, Foundation for Promotion of Public Opinion research "VOX POPULI" and the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation (Moscow, Russia).
29 January 2014. The staff of the Public Opinion Research Institute, Yevgeniya Rudneva, Deputy Director for Projects, Master of Sociology; Ainur Mazhitova, First Deputy Director, Master of Sociology; Nurgul Khaidarova, Expert analyst of the Institute, the Master of Sciences in Government Management, presented the results of sociological research "Problems and Prospects of Development of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses", commissioned by the Institute for Public Policy of the Nur Otan Party.
