In 2023, the United Nations Development Program in Kazakhstan in partnership with UN Women conducted comprehensive sociological research on public perception of ideas of gender equality and expansion of women’s rights and opportunities in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Both qualitative and quantitative methods, including a mass survey, a series of expert interviews and focus group discussions, were used for the completeness of the research. The sociological research was conducted by the Public Opinion Research Institute.

March 5, 2024. The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and UN Women in Kazakhstan with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan presented the analytical report “Public perception of ideas of gender equality and expansion of women’s rights and opportunities in Kazakhstan”. The report is based on the survey of 3,800 respondents from 17 regions of Kazakhstan and three cities of republican importance, implemented by the Public Opinion Research Institute by order of the UN Development Program in Kazakhstan in partnership with UN Women. The results of this research were presented by B. Rakisheva.
